Savannah, Luci, Corrie, and Dan Lee, and Vern and Sharon Burdick share why the church is important to them.

UUC Congregation,
I guess I really didn't think about how long I've been a member of the church. (Boy do I feel old). I guess it has just been a part of my life that I have taken for granted. Maybe this is a good time to reflect on what the Church has done for me. I have found comfort when I was sad, friends and support when I needed help especially while raising a family. It was comforting to talk with others that were struggling with the same issues, supporting you when you doubted yourself, and then others depending on me when they needed help. We all need to feel needed. We all need to feel like a part of the Church Family. I think here we do.

I am so proud of our youth, watching them grow and mature. It makes me smile to see the older ones and remember them when they were the 4 & 5 year olds wiggling in the pew. I love seeing the new young children attending our church. They give us laughter, and youth. ( I think it is easier now to enjoy them, when it is not my own doing the wiggling.)

We all have something special to offer and I'm happy to be a part of the Union University Church.

What the UUC means to me is very hard to put into words. When my family was going through difficult times last year with my accident I truly believe that every aspect of the church went into full gear. We had the youth at our house painting and cleaning, we had people bringing delicious food and cards and support. The church is the greatest asset that we all have. People (especially in our congregation) want to help each other, our congregation can and does do a lot to help our "family" and the people of the community. I am honored to support our church.

As many of you know, this past year has been extremely difficult for myself and my family. I don’t think I could have made the adjustments to my new life without the support of the people in our church. Laurie and our congregation are awesome people and it is my pleasure and privilege to support our church.
